March 2024

March is here and dare we say spring has sprung?! March is also a very exciting month in our clinic - we are celebrating Dr. Hubbel’s 64th Chiropractic Anniversary on March 4th, as well as his birthday on March 10th. We won’t tell you how old he is, but know that he is exactly 60 years and 16 days older than Dr. Leguard, whose birthday is on March 26th. Karen is in Aruba with her husband Laird and friends, and will celebrate her birthday on March 16th.

In Celebration of 64 years… a little Dr. Hubbel History!

In 1960, Dr. Hubbel’s first office opened on King Street West, opposite the former West Collegiate.  After three years in that location, the Third Street building was purchased. With years of renovations and the 1980 addition, the practice remained there for 50 years.

In 2015 our current office building was built and the larger facilities made room for Dr Johnston to join.                      In 2021, Dr Leguard joined her grandpa and Dr Johnston in the present practice.

Now, in 2024 we celebrate 64 years in practice and with the many changes over all those years, Dr Hubbel still enjoys being in the office and caring for patients young and old(er).  While the new doctors provide expert Activator Chiropractic care, the three of them continue to learn from each other.

While there have been many changes over all those years, many things stay the same:  Chiropractic care still works wonders, and patients are always grateful for healthcare without drugs or surgery......although those are sometimes necessary also.  It is always rewarding to see patients feel better with Chiropractic care, sometimes after years of suffering before receiving the correct treatment.

That is what makes it all worthwhile, and why we continue to share the benefits of Chiropractic care.

There has been some talk of taking ‘early retirement’ sometime in the next few years.......but it appears that will happen only when Dr Hubbel gets old!

It is interesting to see the Third Street property is currently up for sale. After years of neglect, it is hard to believe that the former office was once a focal point of downtown, with flowers and lawns a showpiece which locals and visitors once admired and produced many compliments.  Maybe buildings are like bodies........if you do not take pride and take care, they do not do as well as they should!
