Happy July! We have an exciting month upcoming in our office. You may have seen some of our doctors and staff at the waterfront festival in the first weekend of July - Rotarians Dr. Johnston, Dr. Leguard and Dr. Hubbel all worked at the Rotary Vendor Tents over the weekend. Louise, Carolyn, Julie and Chloe (Hubbel Leguard) volunteered to help relieve some of the vendors in the Rotary tents. 

Dr. Johnston and her girls are looking forward to spending time together before Isla starts junior kindergarten and Alexandria starts grade one in September. Dr. Leguard has attended a few weddings so far this summer, and is looking forward to spending weekends at the cottage and her trip to France in August. Julie has recently become a grandmother, celebrating the arrival of her new granddaughter Chelsea born on July 1st. Both Louise and Myranda are excited to be on the board of directors for VOS, a local theatre group. Carloyn continues to enjoy spending time with her new granddaughter Iris. Carleigh is excited to be child-free for a few days this month (she’s mostly kidding!).

Dr. Leguard’s sister, Ainsley Leguard, was called to the Bar Association of Ontario on June 27th. It was a wonderful day of celebration, after which Ainsley can officially call herself a lawyer. After a successful stint articling at Osler in Toronto, she will move to Ottawa in August to clerk with the Federal Court of Appeal for a year.

Looking ahead - our staff will be taking some much earned summer vacation. Julie is taking a little bit of vacation at the end of the month to attend a wedding in Calgary, while Dr. Johnston, Carolyn and Louise will be taking the last week of July off. Dr. Leguard, Myranda and Carleigh will be away during the first bit of August. Poor Dr. H doesn’t get any time off again this year! We are always thankful to Karen and her flexibility in covering some summer vacation.
