Winter has arrived! We have been lucky so far this winter with mild temperatures and very little snow- until recently! Dr. Johnston was able to spend the last weekend in January at her cottage with her family- tobogganing, having snowball fights and making snow forts. Dr. Leguard and Myranda found themselves on the trails cross country skiing, and Dr. L is on her way to the Eastern Townships in Quebec for the first weekend in February for some downhill skiing with her friends. Staying active in the winter months is the best way to enjoy the snow!

Dr. Leguard spent the first week of January in Maui, Hawaii with her family. The Leguards all agree that this was one of the best vacations they’ve ever taken… which included whale watching, snorkeling, hiking, sunset views from the top of an inactive volcano, amazing food from local food trucks, and spending lots of time on the beach. Dr. Leguard’s mom, Debra (Hubbel Leguard) became the whale watching expert, spotting a whale spout or breach every 5 minutes or so. Definitely a special week together to start the new year on the right foot.

In February our clinic will be collecting personal hygiene items for the Rose Quest. The Rose Quest’s mission is to improve the health, wellbeing, and dignity of residents in crisis, in need, at risk, or who are experiencing homelessness, by providing hygiene products through social service agencies, charities, schools, and directly to people experiencing housing insecurity They are doing a drive for certain items at the moment and we would love to help them out as much as we can. If you would like to contribute, please leave the items in the basket/box at the front desk.

The items we are looking for include:

  • Travel size shampoo
  • Unscented baby powder
  • Deodorant

As we mentioned, our clinic “Word of the Year” is REFINE. To us, refine is the perfect word for our focus of the year, as we have an amazing clinic, but want to fine tune things to make it even better. We will be focusing on refining our booking system, online presence, treatments, and clinic protocols.
